The School of Humanities and Sciences strives to provide students with extracurricular activities that will enrich their education and give them opportunities to apply what they are learning in the classroom.
Debate Team
CCU's Debate Team was organized to develop students' critical thinking and presentational skills. The team's goal is to help students build confidence in speaking, gain valuable skills to succeed in a chosen career, become influential leaders in our society, and most importantly, impact the marketplace for Christ. Members can receive academic credit for their participation on the Debate Team.
Digital Media Lab
The Digital Media Lab offers members the opportunity to learn media production from Emmy Award winner and producer Jess Stainbrook. Members can earn academic credit for their participation in the Digital Media Lab.
Rocky Mountain Communication Association
The Rocky Mountain Communication Association is a regional professional association serving communication educators and professionals in the Rocky Mountain region, including Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. Membership is open to all faculty, students, and professionals working in communication-related fields or disciplines. CCU communications faculty and students participate in RMCA conferences by presenting papers and research.
Bi-Annual Poetry Readings
Stand and let your voice be heard! Poetry readings are sponsored by the Literary Club, but membership is not required to attend or participate.
Literary Club
Share your writing passion with like-minded writers in the Literary Club. Club members meet weekly.
Paragon
This creative outlet for our students contains art, photography, short fiction, and poetry. In addition to the publication, our current staff hosted CCU's first "Paragon Art Night," joining several other student-led organizations for an evening to display the artistic talent of the student body across the disciplines. Students who participate in creating the Paragon receive one free academic credit. In addition, one or two students are selected each year to receive the Paragon scholarship for serving as editor(s).
Sigma Tau Delta is an International English Honors Society. The CCU chapter is called the Alpha Omicron Zeta chapter of the Sigma Tau Delta and was chartered in March of 2007. In order to be invited to Sigma Tau Delta at CCU, a student must have an overall GPA of 3.0 and a required 3.5 GPA for English coursework.
Veritas
The University newspaper, "Veritas", is written and edited by students. Students who wish to participate in writing for Veritas should register for the University Publications course (INT 160-01) and will receive two free academic credits. In addition, several students receive financial awards for editing the paper, writing columns, and overseeing production.
Pre-Health Professional Club
Students who are interested in a variety of careers within the field of medicine (e.g. doctor, physician’s assistant, physical therapist, dentist, nurse, lab technician, optometrist, etc.) meet on a regular basis to explore the opportunities available to them. Students gather and discuss information on required coursework, entrance exams (e.g. MCAT), programs of study, job descriptions, and employment options. Students are enabled and encouraged to contact professionals within their field of interest and use the Internet for current information. The accumulated information is cataloged and available to any interested student. University and college representatives from various parts of the United States meet with students to offer information on their respective institutions. In addition, professionals from a variety of medical professions are brought in to discuss their studies, experiences, and insights. Another benefit of meeting with students who have similar aspirations and interests is that relationships develop, study sessions are planned, and students learn to support one another throughout their education.

Psychology Club
Psychology Club is an organization that aims to assist students in their academic and career development. We provide instructional seminars with inside and outside speakers on: potential career and internship opportunities in psychology, admission to graduate schools, potential careers with a terminal bachelor's degree in psychology, areas of specialty in psychology, and contemporary research and theories within the field. Psychology Club assists students in preparing for the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association conference, provides referral information to students, and serves as an opportunity for mentorship. It also has elements of community service and social opportunities for psychology majors to connect with peers and professionals in the field.
Rocky Mountain Psychological Association
One of the most exciting opportunities for psychology majors at Colorado Christian University is the opportunity to complete an academic research project and present the results at the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association conference. This nationally known conference is the preeminent conference for student researchers to present their work in the eight-state Rocky Mountain region. Every year CCU's psychology department takes many students to the conference to present their work and share ideas with students and professors from other universities.
Field Trips
Students visit the largest mosque in Colorado, Foothills International Forum at Mt. Vernon Country Club, Abrahamic Initiative at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral, and book signings at the Tattered Cover bookstore.
Prayer Group
CCU's Prayer Group meets after each chapel to pray for missions and the persecuted church.
Public Forums
Students can attend and be involved in a variety of public forums and debates. Some previous examples include Constitution Day, republican and democratic candidates, and a science debate on global warming.
Seekers Club
Members of the Seekers Club purposefully work together to seek God’s truth in every aspect of life.
Young Republicans
All students may participate in this club for young republicans on campus.
