Why I Value the CCU Library

In our age of information and technology, the countless ways of obtaining information can be, at times, overwhelming.  It is like a jungle; a tangled web of thoughts, theories, processes, and formulas.  Sojourners through this jungle can often become disheartened by  this vast maze of information, but there is a place of refuge at the CCU library.  The CCU library helps the academic traveler, a.k.a. students and faculty, by offering a diverse array of information in an easy to understand format,  a staff that is of the utmost help, and a character all of its own.

Though the CCU library is but a hut compared to other large libraries, it offers a diversity that few Christian university libraries can boast.  The library offers books on theories of philosophers, a wide variety of Christian authors, children's literature and teacher help guides, psychology and humanities, and geography; as well as your typical study guides, novels, and encyclopedias.  It also holds quite a few informational and entertainment videos and CDs, as well as magazine and periodical archives.  Each section of the library is easy to access and orderly so that academic travelers can easily find all that they need for quality studies.  The CCU library also makes it easy for sojourners to access information away from campus by listing quite a bit of their information on their website.  I know from personal experience that this tool in invaluable.

The staff at the CCU library is also unique in that they are always willing to help those in need.  All a traveler needs to do is ring the little bell on the desk, and "ding" someone will be there to help them.  It's almost as magical as a genie in the lamp!  The staff at the library is always so willing to help you locate a section of the library, a book in need, or answer any other question you may have.  In addition to their friendly and helpful service, the staff at the CCU library are also friends to those who come in.  You may not need a book, but you can still come in and chat with Gayle, Sharon, Gretchen, or any of the student staff at anytime.  They are always happy to see you, get to know you more, and listen to any suggestions you may have for improvements that can be made to the library.

Finally, the CCU library is unique.  Its small size gives it a cozy-niche feeling where students can find peace and quiet from the onslaught of the world around them.  The academic traveler can find a nice couch or table tucked away somewhere where they can begin their searches in a tranquil environment.  The library has a distinct character that makes it stand out as a place that academic travelers enjoy coming to.  There are very few libraries that take pride in their students, and this is but one area where the CCU library stands out among the world of academic libraries.  It takes genuine pride in the artwork, writing, and other creative workings of its students, faculty, and alumni.  All around the library you will find artwork from past and present students, as well as essays proudly displayed.

The world is a jungle of information and technology, but the CCU library is a safe place for sojourners to come and learn about the world around them in a comfortable and orderly setting.  Its friendly staff makes the library experience one worth repeating, and its quaint atmosphere and pride in student achievement make the CCU library a place to come enjoy and appreciate the world of academia.  These are but some of the reasons why I, an academic traveler, value the CCU library.
