Current students, faculty and staff in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies at the Centers in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, Loveland, and elsewhere are encouraged to become familiar with available resources by consulting the Library Web and contacting the Adult and Distance Reference Librarian as needed (see below).
The Library Web offers: Services, Collections, Ask a Librarian E Mail Reference, Ask Colorado, a Virtual Reference Library, the Full-text Journal Databases, Citation and Writing Guides, and Subject Guides.
These and the Library, Information, & Research Tutorial are relevant for all locations. Read our Welcome Letter.
For additional local library resources see Other Libraries, also on the Library Web. This page outlines how to borrow from libraries other than CCU and includes the specifics of Interlibrary Loan procedures. Be sure to check the Online Catalog first for CCU's book and other holdings and the Full-Text Databases for CCU's journal articles.
All of the electronic reference and journal databases are accessible via authorization and password, so it is not necessary to be physically located on Lakewood campus to use them. Use your Network Account to log onto the general CCU Web and click on Department Library. The Library authorizations are listed.
If you are a registered student or a faculty member, you may also call OUR QUICK INFO LINE AT 303-963-3250 for guidance. From this number ILL borrowing services, reference service, and general information is available.
CCU HAS A TOLL-FREE 1-877-777-6132 NUMBER ESPECIALLY FOR ADULT STUDENTS AND PERSONNEL AT OUR CENTERS AND AT A DISTANCE. IT CONNECTS DIRECTLY TO TRACEY LANE, THE ADULT AND DISTANCE REFERENCE LIBRARIAN. CONTACT HIM FOR INFO, REFERENCE, AND INSTRUCTION REQUESTS. Tracey also provides the Ask a Librarian E-Mail Reference service available to all.
He works Tuesdays through Saturdays as his normal schedule. When he is not available, you have the option to leave a message for him to email you back or to be transferred to the quick info line above that is manned by student assistants.
A functioning Network Account is essential for on-campus printing, using Britannica Online, and other activities. If you have questions about how to establish your general CCU Network Account or if you need assistance with a nonworking password, your Center, the CCU Information Technology Group at 303-963-3444, or helpdesk@ccu.edu can assist you. Additionally, there is a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) on the topic under Network/Telecom on the Information Technologies Department Web Page.
