Special Programs

Resources and Support

When you embark upon your college journey, you're bound to be challenged on a whole new level. Whatever challenges or obstacles you may face throughout the course of your educational experience, your LDC Advisor will be there to offer you the resources, support, and encouragement needed to make sure you're successful and meeting your individual goals.

Academic Success

If a student is facing academic challenges and is accepted conditionally or placed on Academic Probation, their LDC advisor will help them map out a plan to improve their performance using the many resources available.

Academic Testing

The Life Directions Center administers COMPASS, CLEP, and DANTES testing and is also available to proctor missed exams at the request of a student's professor.

International Students

CCU is a SEVIS certified school able to issue the I-20 (F1 Visa) for students coming from other countries to study in the US.

Service Day

The LDC offers new students the unique opportunity to serve their local community during their first weekend as a CCU student at Weekend of Welcome (WOW).

Students with Disabilities

Students who qualify for adaptations to their learning environment under the Americans with Disabilities Act are assisted by their LDC advisor in making arrangements with their class instructors.

Study Abroad Opportunities

The University recognizes that studying in another culture can add greater depth to the academic experience. The Life Directions Center can assist students in selecting programs that will help them meet academic and service goals. Learn more about opportunities to study abroad.

Tutoring Services

All students have access to learning assistants through the Life Directions Center. Tutoring can help students catch up if they are falling behind in their education or be proactive in helping them stay ahead.

Undeclared Majors Advising

If you're not sure which major is right for you, LDC Advisors can help you make the right decision based upon your interests, abilities, and life passions. Learn more about deciding on a major.

Writing Lab

All students have access to CCU's Writing Lab. The Lab is staffed by faculty and upperclassmen English major students available to anyone needing assistance with academic writing.
