CCU Boasts New Ph.D. on Staff

  • Dr. Ryan Murphy, Assistant Professor in CCU's School of Theology
Ryan Murphy, assistant professor of Christian thought and social ethics at Colorado Christian University, received notification that his dissertation has been accepted by King's College, London. Murphy is now a Doctor of Philosophy in Systematic Theology, conferred by the Academic Board in accordance with the Ordinances of the University of London and the Statutes of King's College London.

Murphy currently teaches within the School of Theology at CCU, after previous stops at Westmont and Azusa Pacific. He received his M.A. in Systematic Theology from Regent College, and also previously served as a Calihan Fellow for the Acton Institute of Study of Religion and Liberty. Very active in relief and development work during his teens and twenties, Murphy states that his passions continue to be "expressing Christianity in a global manner that effectively engages social, political, and economic issues in both urban and global contexts."

King's College London is one of the top 30 universities in the world (2011-12 QS International World Rankings), the Sunday Times 'University of the Year' for 2010-11, and the fourth oldest in England. It has nearly 23,500 students, including almost 9000 graduate students, from 150 countries.
