Bio and Professional Accomplishments:

Matt Jones, Assistant Professor of New Testament Studies, began his time at Colorado Christian University in 2006 as an advisor in the Life Directions Center (LDC). Primarily serving as an advisor to Juniors and Seniors, Matt was promoted to the role of assistant director and acted as a liaison between the LDC and academics. In addition to his roles as advisor and assistant director, Matt has taught as an affiliate faculty member since 2007 for various schools at Colorado Christian University including the College of Adult and Graduate Studies, the School of Business and Leadership, the School of Humanities and Sciences, and the School of Theology. During his time in student life and as an affiliate faculty member, Matt received the honors of Student Member of the Year in 2006-2007 and 2011-2012 and Affiliate Faculty Member of the Year in 2010-2011 and 2014-2015.

Matt graduated with honors from Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master of Theology in Academic Ministries with an emphasis in New Testament studies. Currently, he is in the dissertation phase of a Ph.D. in Religious and Theological Studies at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA.

When not working on his dissertation, serving students, or teaching, Matt is spending time with his wife, Cathy, and his children Hannah, Tyler, and Mackenzie. If there’s any time remaining, he likes to run and play golf.
