An Assistant Professor of Political Science at Hillsdale College, Dr. Thomas Krannawitter teaches American politics and political philosophy and directs the Washington-Hillsdale Intern Program. He is a Senior Fellow of the Claremont Institute where he was previously Vice President. He has also taught at Claremont McKenna College and Azusa Pacific.
Dr. Krannawitter holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. from Claremont Graduate University, and two bachelor's degrees – one in political science and another in communications – from Fort Hays State University in Kansas. He has received graduate and research fellowships from The John M. Olin Foundation, the Earhart Foundation, the Winston Churchill Society, Intercollegiate Studies Institute, and the Institute for Human Studies. He was a Salvatori Fellow at the Heritage Foundation. He lectures frequently at the Leadership Institute of the Rockies.
He is the author of Vindicating Lincoln and co-author of A Nation Under God: The ACLU and Religion in American Politics. Dr.Krannawitter contributes to numerous journals, newspapers, and magazines. He appears frequently on NPR, The Hugh Hewitt Show and Dennis Prager Show. He has spoken widely before civic, political, educational, and religious organizations on the American Founding, constitutional jurisprudence, citizenship, and classical and modern political philosophy.
