Myths of the Great Depression — September, 2009

    Lawrence W. Reed

Lawrence W. Reed is president and founder of the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE). One of the oldest economics institutes in America, FEE advocates the study and advancement of free versus collectivist societies, addressing issues such as the sanctity of private property, individual liberty, the rule of law, the free market, and the moral superiority of individual choice and responsibility over coercion. Before assuming his duties at FEE, Reed was president of the Mackinac Center for its first two decades. Under his leadership the Center emerged as one of the most effective of more than 40 state-based free-market think tanks in the United States.
