New Student Retreat

Frontier Ranch
Buena Vista, Colorado
Every fall all new students kick off the year by spending a weekend to worship and reflect in God's creation. The New Student Retreat provides an opportunity for them to connect with peers as well as get to know others within the CCU community—all while having a great time of fellowship. The retreat takes place at Frontier Ranch, a Young Life camp that is located in the beautiful mountain setting of Buena Vista, Colorado.
What to Bring:
- Bible
- Pen and paper
- Warm and cold weather clothing (temperatures vary)
- Money for snacks and the gift shop (Snack Shop takes cash only)
- Water bottle
- Modest swimsuit
Towels and bedding will be provided by the camp.
Important Reminders:
- Freshmen are automatically registered for the retreat and are required to attend.
- Excused absences are as follows: illness with a doctor’s note, a CCU Athletics conference game, or a previously scheduled family engagement. Students with an excused absence must submit the New Student Retreat Waiver Request form (PDF) to Kim Francis, Director of Student Activities, by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2008.
- All unexcused absences will result in a $125 fee charged to the student's account.
- Transfer Students are invited to attend at no cost. However, all transfer students wishing to attend must register in chapel or by e-mailing your name, class year, mailbox # or off-campus address, and phone number to wow@ccu.edu by Friday, August 29, 2008.
- Charter bus transportation will be provided by CCU. All students must use the provided transportation unless prior arrangements are made with the Director of Student Activities, Kim Francis.
