“The last bastion of freedom.” “The greatest nation in the history of mankind.” Passionate, patriotic speakers at the 2014 Western Conservative Summit used these terms to describe “America at it’s best,” the theme of the 3-day weekend that called for unity, generational harmony, moral courage, and the preservation of America’s founding principles of faith, family, and freedom.
From the Land Down Under: motivational speaker, author, and Australian politician Nick Adams’ speech (as prepared)
Thank you. Thank you, Ladies and Gentlemen. Ladies and Gentlemen, I beg your indulgence for next couple of minutes. I’d like you to close your eyes, imagine what I am about to say. North Korea has invaded South Korea. Indonesian paratroopers have landed on Australian soil. Taiwan has been overrun by China. The Russian-Soviet Empire has been re-created. Tyrants in Africa run around more mercilessly than even now. Terrorists terrorize with impunity. War, maybe nuclear, has engulfed the Middle East and Israel stands to be destroyed. In democracy terms, Latin America is back to square one. Cataclysmic natural disasters have no leadership response. Liberty is extinguished, with terror, tyranny and torture reigning.
Warren Smith, Associate Publisher at World Magazine, and Nick Adams, author, media commentator, motivational speaker, and Australian politician, joined rising conservative stars Charlie Kirk, 21, and Ashley Pratte, 25, on Sunday morning to discuss the role of the Millennial Generation in the conservative movement. Kirk is the founder and executive director of Turning Point USA, and Ashley Pratte serves as the spokeswoman for the Young America’s Foundation. The panel of four brought young energy surging into the 2014 WCS as they inspired attendees to move the Millennial Generation forward.
Nice to be back in the Mile-High City. Beautiful! Flyin’ in from ALASKA, over snow-capped hills (think you call mountains)! Stepped off the plane reminded Todd “don’t inhale!” So, the President was here last week, gettin’ his Rocky Mt. High on.
Saturday night marks the midpoint of the 2014 Western Conservative Summit, and attendees from all backgrounds and generations react to speakers throughout the weekend so far:
“Governor Sarah Palin is the most influential woman in the history of the Republican party,” said Dan Caplis of KNUS moments before the Alaskan icon took the stage at the WCS 2014. “She stands before you today undeterred and undefeated,” said Caplis. Glad to be back in the Mile High City, Palin went straight to work doing what she does best: breaking things down to common sense, something she called an endangered species in Washington.
Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal sparked instant energy at the 2014 Western Conservative Summit with a kickoff speech that quickly catapulted #WCS14 to the top four Twitter trend in the country.
Dr. Ben Carson may have separated twins conjoined at the head, but at the 2014 Western Conservative Summit he joined American patriots at the heart. A characteristically practical and inspirational speech from Dr. Carson ended Friday night’s opening session and left audience members chanting “Run, Ben, Run!” as they were empowered with specific strategies for saving America’s future.
The Western Conservative Summit has proven in years past to be the event of choice for prominent Colorado politicians as well as candidates seeking public office. As the Summit kicks off for 2014, Colorado’s conservative leaders have once again flocked to Denver both to speak with constituents and to educate themselves on current critical issues.
