Dr. Mellani Day Joins CCU to Head Newly-Revised MBA Program

May 10, 2007 -- In preparation for aggressive growth in the area of graduate education, Colorado Christian University has hired Dr. Mellani Day as Assistant Dean of Business and Technology for its College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS). Day began her official duties on April 9, 2007.

Dr. Day will be primarily responsible for directing the CAGS Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program, as well as various undergraduate and certification programs in business and management, computer information systems, accounting, ethics, and project management.

"The MBA at CCU has a lot of value," Day stated. "This year we have revamped the curriculum to include specialties such as project management and leadership. We're looking to have a long-term impact across the entire business community."

CCU's 13-course, 39-credit MBA curriculum is designed to develop effective, ethical leaders. Courses are taken over six to seven-week periods, and the entire program can be completed in as little as two years. Students also have the opportunity to participate in overseas study trips to experience global business dynamics firsthand. Classes are taught at CCU's main campus in Lakewood, Colorado, and at satellite locations throughout the state.

Prior to joining CCU, Day was CFO for Synergy Media Group in Denver, served as Regional Development Manager for Doctoral Programs at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Florida, and was Chair of Graduate Business Programs at Schiller International University in Heidelberg, Germany. In 1989 she founded Day Partners International in Heidelberg, where she was responsible for introducing, marketing, and distributing Orville Redenbacher® microwave popcorn products to the German market.

Dr. Day graduated from the University of Maryland in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in business and management and, the next year, completed a Master of Science in Systems Management at the University of Southern California. In 2002 she earned her Doctor of Business Administration at NSU, with a focus in entrepreneurship and management.
