Watch the Funeral Service for President Bill Armstrong
Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of CCU were among the thousands of mourners who reflected on the life and legacy of President Bill Armstrong at a moving funeral service Friday, July 15 at Cherry Hills Community Church. What we will remember most is his commitment to Jesus, above all else.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the Colorado Christian University Campus Development Fund in memory of President Bill Armstrong. Gifts to the fund can be made online or by mailing a check to Colorado Christian University, Office of Advancement, 8787 W. Alameda Ave, Lakewood, Colorado 80226.
Scripture Readings from the Service
Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation.
– Luke 2:29-30 (NASB)
"For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!"
– Job 19: 25-27 (ESV)
"Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!"
– Psalm 25: 4-7 (ESV)
"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."
– Revelation 22:21 (NKJV)
"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen."
– Jude 1: 24-25 (ESV)
"I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing."
– 2 Timothy 4: 1-7 (ESV)
