Eric Hogue joined Colorado Christian University as the vice president of Advancement in January 2018. He oversees all University fundraising efforts including campaigns for annual, capital, endowment, planned gifts, alumni, parents, and athletics.
At CCU, Hogue has directed a comprehensive fundraising total of $45 million through University Advancement, including $33.5 million to complete phase I of the Armstrong Legacy Initiative (ALI) — the Armstrong Center Campaign, launched phase II of ALI — the Science Center — with the goal of raising $44 million by January 2025, and birthed the CCU Fund and Hope Fund for student scholarship support for the colleges of Undergraduate Studies and Adult and Graduate Studies. The scholarship campaigns are projected to raise $1.5 million annually for CCU students.
Hogue has overhauled the University's fundraising systems and processes with the goal of creating a diversified donor-centric philanthropic operation staffed by experienced professionals. His current focus is completing the campaign for the Science Center and growing the University endowment to $100 million.
Prior to joining CCU, Hogue served for six years as the chief development officer (CDO) of William Jessup University in Rocklin, California, where he successfully tripled WJU's endowment fund and navigated two separate and successful campus capital development campaigns. He is also known for his roles as a former political candidate; practicing theologian and pastor; and long-tenured radio, television, and media professional. In December 2022, Eric published "The Winning Side of the Ask: The Heart and Skills of the Donor-Centric Professional Fundraiser," to help nonprofits design a successful philanthropic culture.
Hogue enjoys stewarding relationships toward biblical generosity for Christ-centered higher education. His hobbies include watching sports and documentaries, reading good books, cooking, and running. Hogue has been married to Tammy Hogue for more than three decades and together they are the parents of two wonderful adult daughters, two amazing sons-in-law, and three brilliant grandchildren.
