Don Harwell

Trustee Spotlight

Don Harwell began his career in the oil and gas industry and then city government. He was deputy city manager for the City of Arvada, Colorado.

From 1978-1997, Harwell was the owner and president of Cryogenics Sciences, Inc., a manufacturer of cryogenics containment systems. Since then, he and his son have owned and operated several manufacturing businesses.

Since the sale of Cryogenic Sciences, Inc. in 1997, Harwell has been managing his personal investments and he has served as the director of the Harwell Family Foundation. In addition to serving on the Board of Trustees at Colorado Christian University, Harwell serves on the board of directors for Southern Nazarene University's foundation. He is a member of Denver First Nazarene Church where he serves on the finance committee.

Harwell earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 1963 from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. He received an MBA from Texas Christian University in 1969.

Harwell and his wife, Lynda, split their time between Colorado and Oregon. Harwell enjoys playing golf and traveling.
