Bill Armstrong, president of CCU from 2006-2016, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Prior to his death, President Armstrong had announced his intention to retire later in 2016. Armstrong led the University for nearly 10 years, overseeing a period of exceptional growth and transformation. In his remarks to the Board of Trustees, President Armstrong emphasized that "Colorado Christian University is on a trajectory to become a great university. It is exhilarating to see God at work in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff."
The nationwide search for a new president of CCU began in February 2016 and is being conducted by the CCU Board of Trustees with assistance from a nationally-known executive search firm. Appointing a president is one of the most important responsibilities of the CCU Board of Trustees, and CCU's next president will help to continue to guide the University into an exciting new phase of growth and opportunity.
