Scholarship Payments

Can I use the scholarship to pay for any class at CCU?

The scholarships may be applied toward degree programs in CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies. Students must apply to CCU and be enrolled as degree-seeking students. The scholarships may not be applied toward core classes in our Pre-Nursing to BSN program, certificate programs, or the fee to audit courses.

Will the scholarship cover the cost of my degree program?

The $10,000 and $5,000 grand prize scholarships could cover a substantial portion of the tuition cost to complete your degree program depending on how many credits from previous college courses you transfer to CCU. The degree plan you receive from your Enrollment Counselor will help determine this. Note: The scholarships may not be applied toward the fee to audit courses.

Visit the College of Adult and Graduate Studies Financial Aid and Tuition website for more information about tuition, scholarships, and flexible options for making your degree program affordable.

Can I use the entire scholarship amount to cover one class?

The scholarship is designed to be distributed evenly among multiple courses. If you won a $10,000 scholarship, you will receive a maximum of $1,000 toward each course (not to exceed the course tuition) for up to 10 courses. If you won a $5,000 scholarship, you will receive a maximum of $625 toward each course (not to exceed the course tuition) for up to 8 courses.

What if I have less than 10 courses to complete my degree?

The scholarship is limited to $1,000 per course for the $10,000 scholarship winner and $625 per course for the $5,000 scholarship winner.

Will I lose the scholarship if I don’t pass a course?

The scholarship amount is deducted from your student account at the beginning of the semester. If you do not pass a class, you will not have to pay back the scholarship, nor will you be refunded the tuition you paid for that course. Should tuition charges be reversed, the scholarship for that class will also be removed from your student account.

Is the scholarship given to me in a check or is it a credit on my student account?

The scholarship will show up as a credit on your bill for each course you are enrolled in during that semester.

Can I use the scholarship to purchase books, or pay other fees?

No, it is a tuition scholarship and cannot be used to cover other expenses.

What if I am eligible to receive employer reimbursement for school?

The amount of your scholarship will automatically be deducted from your student account. Your company can then reimburse the remainder of your tuition costs. Students who qualify for a tuition discount program at CCU are not eligible for this scholarship.

Can I still qualify for financial aid in addition to my scholarship?

Yes, there is no difference in the way you will apply and qualify for financial aid.

What if I am eligible to receive Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits?

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

The amount of your scholarship will automatically be deducted from your student account. CCU will award the Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefit after the scholarship has been applied.

Can I take time off between courses?
