Questions About CCU's Public Administration Master's Degree

How many credit hours is the Master of Public Administration program and how long does it take to complete?

The Master of Public Administration program is 36 credit hours and can be completed in as little as 15 months with full-time study, or take up to four years to complete. See the Master of Public Administration Curriculum page for additional information.

Is the Master of Public Administration program accredited?

All of Colorado Christian University's programs are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. Visit our Accreditation site for details.

Are there any prerequisites?

All applicants to the MPA program must complete prerequisites in statistics. This course is required for students who intend to enroll in CCU's MPA program. Students can enroll in the MPA program and begin to take classes, however must demonstrate completion of the prerequisite courses by submitting the transcript showing proof of completion to the registrar's office before taking the requisite course. What is the program format?

The Master of Public Administration program can be completed online only. Each course is typically taken over a five-week time period. See Master of Public Administration Curriculum for additional information about the program format and curriculum.

How does the online format work?

The master's in Public Administration classes blend the latest eLearning technology with the latest educational theory and practice. Students attend classes online, do research using the Internet, exchange emails, and participate in online discussions. Even assignments and tests are submitted online. Weekly assignments are required, but the course design generally allows participants to complete coursework at the times and places that work best for them before scheduled deadlines.

The Master of Public Administration program is offered online only.

Master of Public Administration graduates can expect careers in city, county and special district management as well as department head or executive positions in state and local government and nonprofit organizations.
