As a student in CCU's College of Undergraduate Studies, working with the Employment and Career Services (ECS) allows you to gain hands-on experience in a professional workplace setting while integrating ECS Principles: Work is Worship, Excellence, and Growth.
The ECS staff will assist you with individualized job placement, career coaching, resume tips, and interview training. Once you get a job through ECS you will have an opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and professional attributes required to be successful in today's workforce. Students also have the chance to offset the cost of tuition and student loans with the extra income since all positions are paid positions. Students also have the option to fulfill elective credits by working.
A professional ECS team member is available to you. Services include one-on-one conversations including: values and skills assessment, career coaching, career mapping, and part time or full-time job placement. You can also receive assistance to help determine the next steps based on your career goals, skill set, work experience, and availability to work.
To schedule an appointment with one of our team members go to appointments in Handshake.
ECS has hand-selected jobs and internships available to you as a CCU College of Undergraduate Studies student or alumni, partnering with Handshake, a leading early career platform for college students. Log into your Handshake account (use your CCU ID and password) to view jobs and internships and apply.
You will have the opportunity to explore "Premier" jobs and your ECS staff member will be available for expert advice on the best jobs for you!
If you apply for a job with one of our Premier Employers (you can't see the name of the company), your application will not immediately go to the employer. Rather, you will work or continue working with an ECS team member, and go through a vetting process. This vetting process has resulted in a 90% job placement rate since 2010!
During your meeting with ECS for a Premier Job:
Students in the College of Undergraduate Studies have access to additional employment resources in the ECS group on Connect. (CCU login required.) Visit our group to learn about ECS events, Building Blocks for your Major, Specific Resumes for your Major, and opportunities to meet with ECS premier employers about job opportunities.
Your resume reflects you, so put the work in to demonstrate your brand and to connect your skills to the desired job! Check out our resume guides, templates, and instructional videos to get you started. Once you have created your resume, upload your resume in the "My Documents" page on your Handshake account (use your CCU ID and password).
