Job Overview:

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Engage in the community around you by developing positive relationships.
  • Ensure the smooth, safe and structured activities for the kids of the program.
  • Run the finances by billing and collecting tuition for each student.
Qualifications:
  • You are at least 21 years old.
  • You hold either 3 years full time paid and documented experience working with school age children or a bachelor’s degree in the human services field and 1 year of experience.
Important Information:

Pay: $14/hour starting - $15-16/hour one file is complete with benefits.

Hours: 20-25 hours/week (Additional for those that qualify). Before school hours begin at 6:30 am and go until 8am. After school hours: 2;15pm - 6pm

Additional hours are budgeted for weekly Wednesday workshops/meetings and other administrative duties

JOB SUMMARY:
A Japanese school needs Elementary and Early Childhood Educators (E.C.E.) to teach English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to a classroom of 16 Japanese children. Along with having a degree in Education, and experience working with children, the ideal candidate will have also have the ability to play on the playground, the ability to carry a tune and sing for others, a strong interest in learning how to teach EFL while working alongside a team in upholding the school's mission and core values as a Christian school.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
·Honest, hardworking, flexible and dedicated individual who has a warm and energetic personality.
·Degree in Elementary Education OR Early Childhood Education
·Secondary Educators are welcome to apply if there is experience working with elementary aged children.
·Experience working with children in a paid and/or volunteer capacity. A student teaching experience is preferred.
·Physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities of a teacher. Activities would include, and not limited to, running and playing with children, climbing jungle gym outdoor toys, sliding down slides, leading a horse or pony, and many other outdoor activities (hiking, boating, water play, camping). Some would say that the energy spent during a 30 minute playtime could be equated to jogging a 15 minute mile.
·Singing: Ability to stay on tune and sing for others (your teammates, students, and their family members)
·Normal program preparation may also include climbing ladders, lifting tables and chairs, raking leaving and shoveling snow. We work hard to ensure our programs are conducted in a professional and safe way with an attitude of excellence.
 
COMPENSATION: Tax FREE salary for U.S. citizens!!
Premier School Kindergarten Teacher: ¥3,240,000YEN/Year
Premier School Elementary Teacher & Friends Club Teacher: 2,760,000YEN/Year

OTHER BENEFITS:

  • Be the key member in charge of covering for absences when other Directors leave, to ensure operations continue to run smoothly.
  • Support leaders in their programs when needed by helping them plan and implement the programs activities and structure. And actively watching over the children to ensure that everything runs smoothly and is fun!
Qualifications:
  • You are at least 21 years old.
  • You have under your belt at least 3 years of full time, paid and documented experience working with children or a bachelor’s degree in the human services field and 1 year of experience.
