Children’s Ministry Intern Position Description:
Intern Job Description
This Church in Evergreen, CO is looking for a part-time dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn and gain experience in Children’s Ministry by assisting staff and volunteers. Our ministry consists of 30-70 children from birth through 5th Grades on Sundays, 35 children in our mid-week program and over 80 volunteers. This person will be working closely with our Children’s Ministry Director to help with administrative tasks, assist in classrooms, teach in different settings and encourage volunteers both on Sundays and at our Wednesday night children’s program.
This Intern should be willing to help with any tasks assigned by a supervisor. They will be involved in upcoming projects as well as assisting with current programs and should expect to gain a broad experience in various aspects of Children’s Ministry.
Intern Responsibilities:
·        Help in leading our Sunday morning Summit Kids Program
·        Assist with our Wednesday night BOLT program
·        Have a positive attitude, be gifted in organization, and have an ability to recruit and care for a team of volunteers.
Intern Requirements:

Job Purpose: This children’s ministry provides relevant, age-appropriate learning and connection opportunities for kids birth to 5th grade. It is dedicated to partnering with parents to help raise children to have a strong relationship with Jesus. Responsibilities: Leadership Development & Support
  • Primary support is for Nursery, Preschool and Elementary Leaders.
  • Secondary support is for Preschool and Elementary Serve Teams.
  • Third level of care is for the parents and families.
  • Fourth level of care is for the kids.
  • Identify, Develop, and recruit key ministry leaders.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the church programming is executed at each classroom in accordance with established curriculum, classroom procedures, and child safety policies.
  • Operational oversight of all classrooms, including, but not limited to – registration/check-in, teaching activities (crafts and games), snacks, and child safety.
  • Manage Children’s Ministry Budget.
  • Identify, Plan, and Execute Classroom Set Up.
  • Meet with Lead Pastor through a weekly touch base. At least one in person or video chat.
  • Meet with an expert in the same field for self development. 
  • Participate in a Small Group.
Serve Team Recruitment
  • Responsible for attending a meeting to partner with another organization with expectations of Leadership and Serve Team Members.
  • Responsible for all new Serve Team interviews and all new Serve Team staff training and development.
  • Responsible for Serve Team staffing levels so that all classrooms are open for maximum capacity.

We are looking to hire a Youth Pastor. The Youth Pastor bears primary responsibility for ministry to youth, from 6th to 12th grade, aiding their spiritual development, teaching, counseling and guidance.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and research youth curriculum and materials.
  • Develop a youth fellowship program and coordinate/lead weekly meetings.
  • Work with and support parents on the continuous spiritual growth of youth and children.
  • Build relationships with and invest in youth in order to be a more effective leader, and in aiding them spiritually and become mature Christians.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Seminary degree is preferable but not mandatory.
  • Experience in youth and family ministries strongly preferred.
  • Understanding and teaching in multicultural setting is desirable.
  • Appropriate evidence of Biblical literacy and spiritual maturity, and leadership skills are essential.
  • Proficient understanding of challenges and needs of young people.

URBAN IMMERSION DIRECTOR: Pay: $800/month; Hours: Full Time Seasonal Position, 40 Hours/Week; REF #3247837

Job Purpose
 
Urban Immersion Summer Staff are responsible to lead groups that come to the organization for short-term immersion trips. Summer Staff will enthusiastically work alongside group leaders and participants (including adult groups and youth groups), equipping them to learn about urban issues, serve within the organization, and engage in the greater Denver community.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
·  Work together with Summer Staff team to facilitate group learning activities, including trip orientation,       devotions, neighborhood outreach, Poverty Scavenger Hunt, prayer walks, bus trips, debriefs, etc.
· Work together with other staff to coordinate group service projects, outreaches to the homeless, prayer   walks, and serving meals
· Implement trip schedules, problem solving to adjust schedules as needed
· Grocery shop, manage supplies, clean dorm space, and maintain regular communication with WCI pastors
· Travel between the downtown campus and Westside campus regularly (using a personal vehicle is preferred   if possible)
· Manage spending and receipt keeping for various group expenses
· Host groups on weekends and holidays as needed
· Live in the housing provided at the downtown campus
· Other responsibilities as needed
 
Qualifications
 
· High School diploma, age 18+
· Desire to serve in an urban ministry context
· Ability to drive between campuses (personal vehicle preferred)
· Ability to speak clearly in front of groups
