A faculty piano recital will be held on Sunday, September 22 in the Music Center at Colorado Christian University. Dr. Christelle Menth, professor of music at CCU, will perform works by a variety of classical composers. She will be joined by violinist Sarah Delavoryas for the Bach Sonata in B Minor. A special treat on the program is Beethoven’s late piano sonata Op. 109. Also on the program are Barber’s Excursions, and several pieces by Chopin and Shostakovich.
Christelle Menth has been teaching at CCU since 1998 and is coordinator of the keyboard area. She teaches piano lessons, class piano, music history and is the accompanist for the University Women’s Choir. An active member in the Colorado music teacher community, she is often called upon to adjudicate at piano competitions and festivals. Her DMA in piano performance is from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and she also studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.
Sarah Delavoryas is currently principal second violinist for the Boulder Chamber Orchestra and has performed with the Boulder Philharmonic, Livermore Symphony, Fremont Symphony, Monterey Symphony, and Santa Cruz Symphony. She is a licensed CO K-12 Music Teacher, a certified Suzuki Violin Teacher, and teaches violin at CCU.
