News: New Young Life Minor

CCU and Young Life Team up to Equip Future Leaders

CCU students have engaged in a variety of ministry, volunteer, and internship opportunities with Young Life for years. Now CCU and Young Life are officially teaming up to train the next generation of Young Life leaders. CCU has introduced a new academic minor in Young Life leadership.

Curriculum for the new minor was customized to specifically meet Young Life's needs. CCU students in the Young Life minor program will take courses in discipleship, cross-cultural ministry, and ministry leadership. The classes will be taught by CCU faculty and members of the Young Life organization. This relationship with Young Life is the first of its kind in the country.

Ken Tankersley, associate regional director for Young Life in the Front Range of Colorado, sees this new program as an effective way to help students prepare to enter the Young Life ministry. "What this relationship provides is a balance of both head and heart knowledge," he said. "In many ways it serves as a practicum-style class in that it will allow many of the students to take what they are learning in class and apply it immediately into whatever ministry they are involved with."

The Young Life leadership minor will be offered starting in the fall.
