CCU Graduates Largest Class in University History

More than 1,400 Graduates Honored at Commencement

Colorado Christian University, the flagship Christian university in the Rocky Mountain region, honored the 1,435 graduates in the class of 2022 at its Commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, Colo.

"On behalf of the trustees, faculty, and staff of CCU, I want to express our admiration for all that these students have achieved. We are honored to have been a part of their journeys and know God has amazing things ahead," Dr. Donald W. Sweeting, CCU president, said. "As they begin careers and start new adventures, we know they have the tools to impact the world with grace and truth."

This academic year, despite trends across the country, CCU experienced a significant increase in graduates in both of its colleges, making this the largest graduating class in the University’s 108-year history. The 1,009 graduates in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) represented a 43% increase over the 2020-2021 record class, while the 426 graduates in the College of Undergraduate Studies (CUS) represented a 37% increase over the prior record class of 2019-2020. The University also saw record-setting numbers of advanced degrees, awarding 369 master's and doctorate degrees.

New to CCU, an unprecedented number of high school students graduated simultaneously with their associate degrees and their high school diplomas after completing required classes through CCU Academy.

CCU is a member of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities and is consistently ranked among the top universities nationwide. The University offers more than 200 academic program options in a variety of disciplines for traditional, adult, and high school students on its main campus in Lakewood and online.

"Each of these graduates brings a unique set of gifts, talents, and skills into the workforce," Sweeting said. "While they are leaving our campus and our online community, they will always be a part of the Colorado Christian University family."
