CCU Receives Military Friendly Schools Award and Designation

University Earns Silver Status Ranking for 2022-2023 Cycle

Colorado Christian University was recently designated a Military Friendly® School for its commitment and dedication to the military community. Since the early 2000s, CCU has been recognized as a military-friendly program and now is ranked at the silver level.

Students in the military community often balance demanding schedules with various military requirements. CCU provides more than 100 degree options that can be completed online through the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS), allowing military students the flexibility they need to earn their degrees. One in nine of CCU's CAGS students is affiliated with the U.S. military. In addition, a large contingent of faculty and staff members at the University served in the military and understand the unique needs of military students.

"As a former member of the military, it is a privilege to now serve our military community and provide students with the flexibility needed to meet their goals and succeed in their academic endeavors," said Bill Hutto, CCU military enrollment director. "We are honored to support those who have served our country by providing them with better opportunities inside the classroom, and beyond."

CCU accepts Tuition Assistance (TA), Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits, veteran's educational benefits, and provides reduced tuition for military members and their families. The University also provides academic credit for formal military training, accommodations for those with disabilities, vocational rehabilitation, and career placement opportunities for veterans. In addition, the CCU military team works cooperatively with base education services personnel and has office locations at Buckley Space Force Base, Peterson Space Force Base (including the 302nd Air Wing), and the United States Air Force Academy.

"At CCU, our goal is to create an environment where our military students can thrive," Hutto said. "No matter the degree plan or career path, our aim is to walk alongside and support these students, providing them with a stress-free college experience."

Over 1,800 universities participated in the 2022-2023 Military Friendly® survey, with a total of 665 schools earning award designations in gold, silver, and bronze. Institutions who earned designations were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. For more details, visit https://www.militaryfriendly.com/.
