George Hanks Brown

George Hanks “Hank” Brown is a former U.S. senator, higher education administrator, and nonprofit sector leader. Brown holds a master of law degree from George Washington University and juris doctor and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Colorado. Brown has served as the president of the University of Colorado, the University of Northern Colorado, and Arcadia University in Pennsylvania. He served 10 years in the U.S. House of Representatives before being elected to the U.S. Senate representing the state of Colorado in 1990. Brown co-founded the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA), co-directed the Center for Public Policy and Contemporary Issues at the University of Denver, and served as the president and CEO of the Daniels Fund.
