Biography and Professional Achievements

Dr. Alex Paine developed her love for teaching early on in her educational career. From her first year of undergrad through her years of graduate school, Paine has been a teaching assistant, laboratory teaching aid, graduate teaching assistant, guest lecturer, and curriculum developer for a wide variety of biology courses. This passion of educating drove her to pursue her doctorate in biology education at the University of Colorado Boulder. More specifically, her graduate work focused on creating environments and course materials that promote student engagement and learning within the laboratory setting.

Having graduated from Buena Vista University, a small liberal arts institution, she knew that she wanted the opportunity to work with students in a similar environment. More so, she knew that she wanted to move into a university that put God at the forefront of everything they do. Paine is not only excited to be able to teach in the setting she has always desired, but blessed to be able to do so at a university that has a strong devotion to God.
