Biography and Professional Achievements

Dr. Barbara J. White, Ed.D., RN, CNS is Professor and Dean for the School of Nursing and Health Professions at Colorado Christian University. She has been at CCU for more than a decade and has had the honor and privilege of providing leadership as founding dean for the CCU Nursing programs.

As an expert faculty, White has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in healthcare ethics, leadership, community health, and global health. In addition to her international work in Korea as a Fulbright Scholar, White has consulted in Hangzhou and Yanji, China, and has taken nursing students to China, Costa Rica, and Chile for international and global studies.

She publishes and speaks nationally and internationally on bioethics, moral leadership, health, collaborative partnerships, spiritual care, and nursing as ministry.

A recognized leader and administrator in healthcare and nursing education for more than 40 years, White is currently chair of the Board of Directors of Nurses Christian Fellowship International (NCFI) where she serves with international leaders who are committed to advancing a Christian worldview in nursing.

She served on the NCFI board as president from 2004-2016 and led the organization in the establishment of an International Leadership Development Program and the International Institute of Christian Nursing.

White has always been active in community and professional activities. She has served on the executive committee for Nurses Christian Fellowship USA (NCF), has been a Fellow at The Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity, and has served on the board of directors of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and on the board of Southwest Counseling Associates.

Currently, White serves on the board of directors for Friends of Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International — Alpha Kappa Chapter-at-large. Twice a year, she leads the Christian Nursing Deans Fellowship at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) in Washington, D.C.
