Biography and Professional Achievements

Dr. Hessler has been a nurse educator for 20 years in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Her research expertise is in women's health, obstetrics, rural health, and teaching strategies for nursing education. She has several research-based publications, and an internationally selling textbook on the flipped classroom in nursing education. Dr. Hessler has been chosen by the Flipped Learning Global Initiative as a Research Fellow, and continues her work to develop best practices for nursing education within the flipped classroom paradigm.
