Biography and Professional Achievements

The Lord has blessed Dr. Michael Schlabra throughout his career in business, K-12 education and in higher education. For many years, he worked in the banking industry and although it was fruitful, it was not fulfilling. He had always heard that "teacher voice" inside but he would turn a deaf ear to it. He found himself teaching his first public middle school class in 1996 and he has never regretted it.

Schlabra eventually became an assistant principal, principal, then assistant superintendent. He transitioned to state-level administration with the GaDOE for several years before entering higher education administration and instruction. Since that transition, he has had the opportunity to direct large doctoral programs and research, serve on a multitude of dissertation committees, design and implement new curricula, teach over 150+ courses and most recently he has enjoyed instructional design.
