Biography and Professional Achievements

Ron Francis and his wife Karen have two grown children and one grandchild. His daughter, Stephanie, serves with the Peace Corps as a teacher on the Island Nation of Vanuatu. Francis is an information Technology Security Compliance Specialist supporting IBM. His career in Corporate IT has spanned 25 years. He also enjoys serving our CCU students as an instructor and most recently as a course development SME. Karen and Ron Francis are very active in community outreach, including serving the homeless through their church in Loveland, CO.

In 2009, Francis earned an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction (MACI) from CCU and was awarded both Outstanding Graduate Student and Commencement Speaker honors. Shortly after graduation, he was offered an opportunity to continue his relationship with CCU through teaching. In 2019, Francis was awarded the CAGS School of Business and Technology 2019 Outstanding Faculty of the Year, as well as Gold Star recipient.

Francis has felt blessed with the opportunity to support and encourage our CCU students, speaking not only to the coursework, but also to the challenges and blessings of life. He offers a listening ear for those students who just need to talk, and he offers a prayer of encouragement for those struggling. Francis enjoys motorcycle touring, hiking, and antique cars (1926 Ford Model T). He hopes to repeat a 2018 solo motorcycle ride covering 5000 miles through western Canada and Alaska as soon as his wife will let him.

From 2012 to 2014, Francis took a break from Corporate America to serve in full time ministry. He learned to understand the hardships faced by the homeless and mentally ill. With this new appreciation for those less fortunate, he strives to instill a reminder of God's tremendous blessings with his students and coworkers.
