Her experience includes working with children who have ADHD, trauma, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues. In addition, she is a Registered Play Therapy-Supervisor for the American Association of Play Therapy.

Welsh's research interests include parenting stress, and she has developed her own model of parenting which she is teaching to parents and counselors so they might also strengthen families with the same model.
