I went to an over-populated public high
school full of very diverse views and cultures, and going to a
small Christian university was the last place I expected to end up.
Nevertheless, in the months after one simple conversation about
the school, I was surprised to feel God pulling me toward CCU. I
knew the snowboarding would be awesome, and I knew being in a
Christian community would be great, too.
What I didn’t expect was
a school so committed to giving me a worthwhile education. I know
that I’ll graduate with an education that can easily compete with any
school in the area.
Moving to Colorado was surreal. Obviously, it was
a dream-come-true for a Midwest kid who grew up snowboarding
on the little dirt mounds they call ski hills, but it also meant moving
far away from all of my family and friends. I left expecting to get to
go home once or twice a year, if I was lucky. But, because of such a
large population of out-of-state students, I found that there is never
a shortage of people driving out that way for breaks, so I was able
to go home more often than I expected.
Now I realize that coming to
CCU was the best decision I could have made. It has already changed
my life enormously, and I know it is shaping me into the person God
created me to be.
