Meet Matt

I ended up transferring to CCU after having a lonely, lackluster experience at a state university. The reason I transferred was simple: the intentional and loving people that I found in this community at CCU. After starting classes, I grew in countless ways through CCU's academic rigor, the professors' passion, and the depth of learning that can be found by integrating faith with academics. This small Christian University has meant more to me than I ever expected it would when I was in your shoes, and I'm here to help you find out if God has CCU in the plans for your next stage of life. Are you ready to experience it for yourself?

Team Midwest and Great Plains: Our enrollment team serves first-time freshmen from Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Hometown: Littleton, Colorado

Education: B.S. Business Administration (Colorado Christian University)

Favorite Verse: "Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more." – Jeremiah 31:31-34 (ESV)

Hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy volunteering with youth, running, biking, off-roading in my truck named Toby, intense Spikeball games, camping in the Colorado wilderness, and enjoying a cup of craft coffee while reading Scripture on my front porch.

Before I came to CCU: I originally came to CCU as a crazy 17-year old who had no idea what the Lord had in store for me. Since completing my B.S. in Business Administration at CCU as an undergraduate student, God has continued to open opportunities for me here. I have now worked at the University for the past three years and have recently begun a graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as well. As the Lord continues to direct my life, I am excited to work with students and families at CCU while continuing my own studies toward working with youth and their families as a licensed professional counselor (or possibly a licensed marriage and family therapist) in the future.
