Selection of Scholarship Recipients

Selection of the three full-tuition scholarship winners will be based on rankings within these criteria:

Professional Portfolio

Your portfolio must include the following items. Please be sure to include your FIRST and LAST name on all documents.

  1. Résumé
  2. Two academic recommendation letters
  3. Scholarship Essay
    • Response: You don’t get to choose the era in which you transition to adulthood. The current era is often described as divisive, chaotic, sometimes godless, and confusing for young adults across our world. But the chaos itself can give rise to new ideas and new vistas. In the first chapter of Genesis, we learn that God begins his creative work out of the “formless and void” or the “chaos” (Genesis 1.2).
    • Prompt: Write an essay in which you describe how your education up to this point has helped prepare you to make an impact for Christ on the contemporary, chaotic culture—with grace and truth. Focus on specific events, people in your life, or opportunities that are foundational to your individual preparation for this moment in a culture that desperately needs you and your impact for the sake of the good news of Jesus. Keep your essay organized around a strong, unique thesis, with specific, lively development.
  4. It is strongly suggested that students include up to three supplemental items, including videos, photos, or newspaper articles that detail your honors, awards, and accomplishments, and/or any other supporting materials which detail why you should be considered a world changer.
Professional Interview

During the World Changers competition, each contestant will be interviewed by members of CCU's faculty, who will take into consideration the student’s potential to continue to impact the world and how well the student can articulate the role faith has had in his/her experiences.

Submit Your Professional Portfolio

ALL portfolio materials noted above must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on January 14, 2024.
