Minor in Education

For Non-School of Education Majors

Offered through the School of Education, the Education minor trains you to impact lives through learning methods of effective teaching strategies and communication skills. You'll take classes in educational theory, curriculum and instruction, and in other specialized areas including reading and adolescent development.

The Education minor is a great choice if you're planning to work with young people in your chosen career, or even if you just want to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of others.

Education at CCU

Through the emphasis placed on the integration of faith and learning in your academic major and education minor classes, you'll be given the opportunity to reflect upon and practice your role as a Christian in your area of discipline and in society. Regardless of your major, the education minor will help you develop the knowledge and skills you need to enhance your professional and interpersonal skill set. You'll be equipped to lead, instruct, mentor, coach, and interact with middle or high school-aged young people. Students have the option to complete 18 credits for the minor or 12 credits for an education specialization.

What can you do with a minor in education?

The Education Minor, which does not lead to teacher licensure, is available to a wide range of majors on campus, including, but not limited to: youth ministry, business, psychology, and secondary education students who have made a career change decision.
