Undergraduate Minor in Reading Education

For Elementary and Special Education Majors (Non-Licensure) Only

The Reading Education minor is available to elementary and special education students who have made a career change decision and do not plan to pursue licensure. Though the minor does not lead you to a teacher licensure, it still includes a core class load that increases your ability as a leader to instruct students. The Reading Education minor is especially recommended if you plan to work in settings where you'll interact with, counsel, lead, coach, or instruct middle or high school-aged students. The Education major reading core, which largely makes up the Reading Education minor, has been recognized in Colorado for excellence in preparing graduates to train young students.
