Bachelor of Music in Worship Arts (B.M.)

Develop your skills for effective leadership through music and worship ministry within the Body of Christ.

The Worship Arts degree program, offered through the School of Music, is a professional degree which develops a particular skill set for students who are called to lead or support a worship ministry. While it is not uncommon for all music degree-seeking students to be involved in a worship ministry, we believe that those who would endeavor to lead others in the act of corporate worship are called of the Holy Spirit to such a ministry. We further believe that this program along with the Music Education program is uniquely positioned to fulfill the University's Strategic Priorities and Mission statement. This is not a degree program to be entered into lightly, but requires the heart, mind, and soul.

Worship Arts at CCU

The Worship Arts program focuses on the development and practice of worship throughout history and of the contemporary church. While not promoting a particular style of worship, the program equips you to be knowledgeable and capable in most forms of Protestant worship. Particular attention is paid to working with all instruments, including voices, along with a distinct performance and internship requirement.

About the School of Music

The School of Music equips students with the necessary skills to become expressive artists and effective communicators from a Christian perspective through the discipline of music. Our students use music and theatre to impact culture for Christ, to honor Him, and to share His love on campus and around the world. Opportunities are open to students of all majors and include national and international tours for major ensembles and an on-campus recording studio.

Become a leader in both the world and the church as you learn to combine a progressive and distinctly Christian worldview with classical, jazz, contemporary, and world music. Academic programs range from Music Performance, Music Education, and Music Composition to Worship Arts, Theatre, and Dance. You'll get personal attention from exceptional, creative, and caring faculty who are themselves active performers and clinicians who desire to not only teach, but to also mentor students.

Colorado Christian University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). NASM establishes national standards for undergraduate degrees and other credentials for music and music-related disciplines, and provides assistance to institutions and individuals engaged in artistic, scholarly, educational, and other music-related endeavors.
