Minor in Young Life Leadership

Learn to build bridges of authentic friendship with kids and how to introduce them to Jesus Christ.

Young Life is a Christian ministry that reaches out to middle school, high school, and college students in all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 100 countries around the world. Young Life doesn't start with a program. It starts with young adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship.

Kids' lives are dramatically influenced when caring people come alongside them, sharing God's love with them. These relationships don't happen overnight — they take time, patience, trust, and consistency.

Young Life Leadership at CCU

Students in the Young Life Leadership minor at Colorado Christian University take courses in discipleship, cross-cultural ministry, and ministry leadership. Offered through the School of Theology, this specialized program offered in conjunction with Young Life was the first of its kind in the country. Many CCU students already participate in the Young Life ministry, so they can take what they are learning in class and immediately apply it where they are serving. CCU faculty and members of the Young Life organization teach the courses.

A minor offers a concentrated area of coursework to supplement your major field of study. It is designed to enhance the range of topics and knowledge for a well-rounded student. It can provide exposure to important concepts that help students prepare for a fast-paced workplace.

About the School of Theology

The School of Theology is committed to cultivating the minds of students who have godly character and who demonstrate both thoughtfulness and maturity. Our desire is unique among theology schools in Colorado: to come alongside students to offer encouragement, direction, and support as they become a well-founded evangelical scholar. Students participate in rigorous academic programs that offer a variety of viewpoints within Christianity and lead to an intelligent commitment to the gospel.

Scholarship itself is ministry to the church and is for service to the church. It fosters an environment where students learn to respect various Christian perspectives, develop an informed faith commitment, and avoid simplistic answers to complex questions. Through experienced faculty, theology students receive a thorough grounding in the primary sources of their fields, and critically engage with the best scholarship research and study in the 21st century.
