Why CCU?
Originally, I wasn't very pro-CCU. I first heard about it at a Christian college fair back home in Illinois, and it just didn't stand out to me at the time. I definitely didn't see it as a main choice of where I wanted to go. Looking back, God seemed to completely transform my view of CCU and show me what an amazing opportunity it was! Just from the website, I fell in love with the scenery and all the amazing outdoor activities you could do around campus.
I looked more into their psychology program and realized that was exactly what I was looking for in my major. I visited in September, and just by walking on campus I felt such a welcoming atmosphere. It's such a tight-knit community that you can randomly say "hi" to anyone around campus! That was really when I knew CCU was the college for me. On the trip to Denver I was so nervous that I almost didn't know if I wanted to come anymore. I knew I was going to be surrounded by people I didn't know and all these new experiences! But I am so glad I came.
All of the friendships I made in a week felt like I had known these people for months! Already, I have such a close-knit group of people who love the Lord and have that as a main gateway to getting to know each other deeper. I feel like I've weaved completely into the community. Anywhere you go, you'll always feel some ups and downs, but I know that choosing to come to CCU was one of the smartest decisions I have ever made.
