Students interested in pursuing a graduate certificate program will need to complete the following admission requirements to start the program.

Admission Requirements

  • Complete the graduate admission application online (including transcripts, and fees).
  • Submit an official transcript that reflects a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants with an undergraduate grade point average between 2.0 and 2.49 will be admitted on a conditional admit (CAD) basis for the first semester. CAD students must maintain a 3.0 GPA or better in their first nine (9) credits to remain in the program.

Additional Admission Requirements by Program

  • Campus, Event, and Organizational Safety, Graduate Certificate

    CCU offers four courses (12 credit hours) in Campus, Event, and Organizational Safety designed to address the alarming trend of mass violence in our culture through a worldview that supports the sanctity of life and a biblical view of human nature. The courses may be completed as an optional emphasis in the M.S. in Criminal Justice program or as a stand-alone graduate certificate.

    The Campus, Event, and Organizational Safety courses include:

    • Psychology of the Mass Shooter
    • Campus Safety and Mass Violence
    • Event Safety and Mass Violence
    • Organizational Safety and Mass Violence

    Students will acquire theoretical and practical expertise on this ever-worsening issue of violence in American society. At the same time, they are equipped to offer best-practice preventive and response measures to maximize public safety. Those who complete the courses may receive advancement opportunities or consulting roles in criminal justice/public safety.

  • Cyber Criminology, Graduate Certificate

    The online Cyber Criminology Certificate will teach you the critical skills required to understand the mind of a cyber-criminal. This certification will provide an in-depth introduction to the field of criminology as it relates to cybercrime. You will learn how to apply social and behavioral methods to study the causes and consequences of crimes that occur in cyberspace. You will also examine various types of computer-based criminal activity as well as the social and psychological factors that contribute to the life of cybercrime.     CCU's online Cyber Defense Certificate will teach you the critical skills required to go into the field of cyber defense. This certification will provide an in-depth introduction to the principles of cyber defenses: prevention and protection, detection and management of incidents, and responses and interventions. This certification also covers security architecture and design; intrusion detection and prevention systems; security information event management systems and log analysis; and disaster recovery planning. Jobs for an educated professional in cyber defense include Digital Forensics Investigator, Cyber Network Analyst, Cyber Security Architect, Cyber Security Researcher, and Cyber Security Professor.

    The online Cyber Offense Certificate will teach you the critical skills required to go into the field of cyber offense or white hat hacking. The certification courses will cover introduction principles, including ethical hacking using the Cyber Kill Chain Model. This consists of seven steps: reconnaissance, weaponization, delivery, exploit, installation, command & control, and actions on objectives. The Cyber Kill Chain model describes the phases of a targeted cyber attack. Ethical hacking is used by cyber practitioners to find vulnerabilities before an attacker is able to exploit them.     The online Cyber Policy Certificate will teach you the critical skills required to set key standards within the field of cyber security. The certification will also introduce you to the major security policies through which governance is applied through compliance audits.     The Graduate Certificate in Health Care Administration is designed for students who may already possess an MBA but are interested in working in the health care industry; or for those who already have a position of leadership and management in health care but are new to health care systems, regulations and industry expectations. As part of CCU's MBA graduate certificate programs, students may transfer 12 credits from the Graduate Certificate in Health Care Administration to an MBA with an emphasis in Health Care Administration.

    The Graduate Certificate in Leadership challenges students to stretch their skills to meet today's organizational needs that are so entrenched in technology. The certificate coursework also includes social networking and collaboration approaches. Theories and realities of leadership/followership are addressed with special emphasis on the biblical principles related to organizational leadership. Students then have the option to choose either an international focus or one that explores values-aligned leadership. As part of CCU's graduate certificate in business programs, students may transfer 9 credits from the Graduate Certificate in Leadership to an MBA degree at Colorado Christian University.

    The Graduate Certificate in Project Management focuses on the development of leadership as well as technical skills in the management of project teams. At the graduate level, the role of a project manager with the responsibility for oversight of multiple projects and several project managers is covered. The certificate program will provide you the skills required to plan, analyze, and evaluate project performance and associated risk to help you gain competitive advantage. As part of CCU's graduate certificate in business programs, students may transfer 9 credits from the Graduate Certificate in Project Management to an MBA with an emphasis in Project Management.

  • TESOL, Graduate Certificate

    The TESOL Certificate program is available as a stand-alone 15-credit program that includes a 60-hour supervised fieldwork experience; these courses may also be applied toward a CCU master's degree in TESOL or Curriculum and Instruction, and can also be applied towards an endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education for Colorado-licensed teachers.

    TESOL Certificate course content is aligned with the standards and best practices promoted by the TESOL International Association.

    • Complete an admission interview with personnel from the M.Ed. in TESOL program.
    • Complete a background check. (Required for program admission in order to complete field requirements.)

Colorado Christian University is required by the U.S. Department of Education to be in compliance with state laws regarding where we can offer distance and/or online education. The College of Adult and Graduate Studies at Colorado Christian University offers courses to online students in all states with some exceptions for specific academic programs.
