News: CCU Named Gold Military Friendly School

CCU Earns 2024-2025 Gold Military Friendly® School Designation

CCU receives designation as a leading institution for supporting active-duty, veteran, and military dependent students and their families.

Colorado Christian University (CCU), the leading interdenominational Christian university in the Rocky Mountain region, announced today that it has earned the 2024-2025 Gold Military Friendly® School designation. CCU is one of only 245 institutions to earn the Gold-level designation out of more than 1,800 participating colleges and universities and one of only three institutions in Colorado. It is the 12th consecutive year CCU has been named a Military Friendly® School.

“CCU is committed to serving our military community and creating an educational experience that helps them succeed outside of the military,” said Bill Hutto, CCU’s military enrollment director. “This extends to not only actively serving members, but to veterans and dependents. It gives them personalized service that goes above and beyond a normal university admissions process. Students are helped by a dedicated enrollment staff that are experts in both admissions and military benefits. CCU also has staff dedicated to all aspects of using tuition assistance and Veteran Affairs benefits.”

The Military Friendly® School designations were determined using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. To qualify for a gold designation, an institution had to score within 10% of the top 10 colleges and universities in the nation for its support of active-duty and veteran military students and their families.

“Our active-duty military, veteran, and military dependent students and their families are a vital component of the Colorado Christian University community,” said Allison Burkhart, vice president of enrollment, marketing and student success for the College of Adult and Graduate Studies. “Whether it is in the classroom on base or through our industry-leading online platform from nearly anywhere in the world, at CCU we’re dedicated to providing a world class education that propels our graduates to success both personally and professionally.”

The 2024-2025 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May and October issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at militaryfriendly.com. Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community.

“Military Friendly® is committed to transparency and providing consistent data-driven standards in our designation process. Our standards provide a benchmark that promotes positive outcomes and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the military community,” said Kayla Lopez, national director of military partnerships for Military Friendly®. “This creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages colleges to evolve and invest in their programs consistently. Schools who achieve awards designation show true commitment in their efforts, going over and above that standard.”
