Cal Thomas and Bill Armstrong to Speak at CCU's 2007 Values-Aligned Leadership Summit
Colorado Christian University (CCU) recently announced the 2007 Values-Aligned Leadership Summit (VALS), the fifth installment in the university's successful annual series. Introduced in 2003, the conference joins hundreds of seasoned business executives with CCU business students for seminars and dialogue on developing industry-wide leadership accountability and ethical decision-making paradigms. VALS is scheduled for April 18, 2007, at the Grand Hyatt in downtown Denver, Colorado -- a short drive from the university's main campus in Lakewood.
This year's topic of discussion is "Media, Values, and Leaders" and features keynote speakers Cal Thomas, a renowned political columnist, and former U.S. senator and current CCU president Bill Armstrong.
One of today's most widely read and highly regarded American political voices, Cal Thomas has nearly 40 years of experience in broadcast and print journalism and has authored ten books. He has received numerous honors for his work, including a nomination for the prestigious CableACE Award for Best Interview Program. Thomas has broadcast with NBC, CNBC, and PBS television, and currently contributes weekly political commentary as a panelist on the Fox News Network show "Fox News Watch." His work also appears regularly in over 600 newspapers nationwide and he hosts a daily radio program that is syndicated to over 300 stations.
Recently assuming the presidency at CCU, Bill Armstrong served for 18 years in the nation's capitol -- six of those years in the U.S. House of Representatives and 12 in the U.S. Senate. A successful businessman, he has been chairman of three privately-held mortgage banking firms and a software development firm, a director of six public companies, and operated 13 private companies. Armstrong currently serves as chairman of the board for the Denver-based Oppenheimer Fund and is a 15-year board member of worldwide evangelistic organization Campus Crusade for Christ.
