    The Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies (AA) degree combines general education and elective courses, preparing adult students to earn a bachelor's degree that can create a solid foundation for career opportunities and advancement.     Students in the Associate of Arts degree program gain a broad foundation of knowledge that covers every aspect of general education, including communications, humanities, history, behavioral and social sciences, biblical studies, mathematics, natural science, and computer science. For many adult students, the associate degree is the first step toward completing a bachelor's degree.

    • Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
    • Prior college, military, and technical credits can be used toward the A.A.

    • The Associate of Arts degree provides students with the general education requirements necessary to complete a bachelor's degree.
    • The AA degree requires 48 credit hours of general education courses and 12 credit hours of electives.
    • The program is specially designed for adult students who are busy with work and family commitments.
    • Students may pursue prior learning credit for prior college, military, and technical credits, allowing them to validate life experiences in an academic arena.
    • Students take one course at a time with classroom-based courses meeting one night a week for five weeks.
    • Students can complete the coursework for the Associate of Arts Degree online. Internet-based courses run for five weeks and weekly assignments may be completed around your schedule.
