Undergraduate Certificate Programs
Our College of Adult and Graduate Studies offers a variety of undergraduate certificate programs to help you develop key competencies in a specific subject. College certificates consist of four courses and a total of 12 credit hours. You may complete an undergraduate certificate as a stand-alone program, to begin work toward a CCU bachelor’s degree in the same subject area, or to supplement a CCU bachelor’s degree in a related area.
Accounting Certificate
The Accounting Certificate helps you gain a deeper understanding of accounting processes in business, management and organizational operations. The curriculum emphasizes the development of values-based decision-making skills that make you a more valuable asset in the workforce. Course content has practical application in a variety of fields, from tax accounting to non-profit and government accounting.
Topics of study include corporate financial accounting (including the accounting cycle), financial statements, budgeting and tax accounting. You can customize your program by choosing two electives based on your needs and interests.
The Accounting Certificate is available as a stand-alone program, or students may transfer 12 credits from the certificate to a CCU bachelor's degree in Accounting. The Accounting Certificate can also be used to supplement a CCU bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems Management, or Organizational Management in Christian Leadership, Human Resources Management, or Project Management.
Biblical Studies Certificate
The Biblical Studies Certificate helps you develop a comprehensive knowledge of both the Old and New Testaments, equipping you for ministry in a variety of settings. You will learn about the basic themes, issues and schools-of-thought in Christian theology, and will develop the tools to integrate biblical knowledge with contemporary world issues and events.
Topics of study include interpreting the Bible, history and literature of ancient Israel, and early Christian literature. You can choose an elective to customize your program. Course content has practical application in work, church and personal settings.
The Biblical Studies Certificate is available as a standalone program, or can be used to supplement any CCU bachelor’s degree, giving you an opportunity to consider how biblical principles integrate with your career.
Communication Studies Certificate
The Communication Studies Certificate provides students with the fundamentals of communication, including the principles and dynamics of interpersonal relationships, the value and impact of social media, the application of effective cross-cultural communication, and the development of advanced oral communication.
Topics of study include interpersonal communication, mass communication, public speaking and cross-cultural communication. Courses can be taken either in the classroom or online, providing maximum flexibility to study at convenient times and places.
The Communication Studies Certificate is available as a standalone program, or students may transfer 12 credits from the certificate to a CCU associate degree in Communication Studies or a CCU bachelor's degree in Communication Studies. The Communication Studies Certificate can also be used to supplement any CCU bachelor’s degree, providing you with principles for more effective communication in your career and other areas of your life.
Criminal Justice Certificate
The Criminal Justice Certificate provides you with the fundamentals of the criminal justice system, American juvenile justice, crime, and criminal behavior and policing. CCU's distinctive curriculum integrates faith with the criminal justice coursework, so you can explore the critical issues of life: free will, justice, redemption and the nature of man.
Topics of study include introduction to criminal justice, juvenile justice, introduction to policing and criminology. Courses can be taken either in the classroom or online, providing maximum flexibility to study at convenient times and places.
The Criminal Justice Certificate is available as a stand-alone program, or students may transfer 9 credits from the certificate to a CCU associate degree in Criminal Justice or a CCU bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. The Criminal Justice Certificate can also be used to supplement a CCU bachelor's degree in Psychology, Business Administration, or Information Systems Management.
Entrepreneurship Certificate
The Entrepreneurship Certificate helps you develop skills related to “entrepreneurship as a mission.” Entrepreneurship is studied as a vehicle to share the Gospel on the mission field, whether in starting a local franchise, working in a family business or helping a village become self-sustainable overseas. The course content is designed to help you craft an entrepreneurial mindset, which is vital for business start-ups as well as in established organizations.
Topics of study include entrepreneurship as a mission; starting and running a business; social, sustainable and mission entrepreneurship; and entrepreneurial growth. You will also be required to evaluate opportunities to promote self-employment through creativity and the use of God-given talents.
The Entrepreneurship Certificate is available as a stand-alone program, or students may transfer 12 credits from the certificate to a CCU bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship Certificate can also be used to supplement a CCU bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, or Organizational Management in Christian Leadership, Human Resources Management, or Project Management.
Ethics Certificate
The Ethics Certificate provides a unique combination of classes dealing with business ethics, philosophy, and biblical principles, helping you integrate your world view into your everyday life and work. You will be challenged to explore how your personal values and morals impact the decision-making process.
Topics of study include 21st century business ethics, personal and social ethics, world views and Christian apologetics. Course content has practical application in work, church and personal settings.

Health Care Administration Certificate
The Health Care Administration certificate will provide you with competence in a rapidly growing job sector. You’ll comprehend the fundamental aspects of health care delivery, including a grasp of the latest changes in policies and regulations, and gain a strong understanding of the financial and ethical considerations in health care.
Additionally, you’ll be introduced to a wide array of medical terminologies as you understand the basics of managing a medical staff, appraising patient outcomes, and directing organizational change. You’ll also become familiar with informatics in health care as you understand how to interpret and manage information to improve patient outcomes.
The Health Care Administration certificate is available as a stand-alone program, or students may transfer 12 credits from the certificate to a CCU associate degree in Health Care Administration or a CCU bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration. The Health Care Administration Certificate can also be used to supplement a bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, or in Organizational Management in Christian Leadership, Human Resources Management, or Project Management.
Project Management Certificate
The Project Management Certificate helps you develop key leadership skills necessary for succeeding in today’s business environment. Through this certificate program, you will gain a cohesive bundle of knowledge, skills and processes that interact to attain organizational objectives. The coursework emphasizes practical application and implementation in real-world business situations, with integration of social and ethical implications throughout.
Topics of study include project management fundamentals, project planning, scheduling and controlling, risk management and strategic project management. Course content has practical application in a variety of settings, from business to home management.
The Project Management Certificate is available as a stand-alone program, or students may transfer 12 credits from the certificate to a CCU bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management in Project Management. The Project Management Certificate can also be used to supplement a CCU bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, or Organizational Management in Christian Leadership or Human Resources Management.
