Colorado Christian University makes it easy for you to obtain your textbooks and course materials. In partnership with Barnes & Noble, eBooks will automatically be provided in your online course and physical textbooks and materials will be shipped after you confirm your mailing address. Your Resource Fee covers this service which will streamline how you get your textbooks and course materials.
Most of your books will be digital eBooks. All eBooks will be accessible through Brightspace embedded in your course. If an eBook is not available, a physical book will be mailed to you after mailing address confirmation in your Barnes & Noble Student Portal. It is important that you check your student email often because you will receive communications from before Barnes & Noble regarding vital course material information.
If you prefer physical copies of books, you can find and purchase them on your own, but you will still be charged the same resource fee amount which remains the same no matter how many textbooks or materials are provided.

While you do not have to place an order for digital books provided in your course, you are required to confirm your mailing address in your Barnes & Noble Student Portal before Barnes & Noble will send any physical rental textbooks or materials to you.
No. Most of your books will be ebooks. The only time you will receive a rented physical copy is if an electronic version is not available. If you prefer physical textbooks, you are welcome to find and purchase them on your own.

o Electronic books will be embedded in your class in Brightspace. This will be available to you one week prior to the course start date. If you are receiving a physical copy of a book, Barnes & Noble will send you an email 30 days prior to the beginning of the semester requiring verification of your address. You must verify your mailing address before your book(s) will be shipped to you. The book(s) will ship upon verification of your mailing address. You can always check your Barnes & Noble Student Portal to complete mailing address verification up to 30 days prior to your course start date, as well. After you have confirmed your mailing address, shipping time will vary depending on your location. Barnes & Noble will provide you with shipping confirmation and details after the address is verified.
o You must verify your mailing address before your book(s) will be shipped to you. If you did not see an email from Barnes & Noble, check your spam or junk filters to make sure Barnes & Noble emails are sent to your primary inbox.
o You need to confirm your mailing address before each block that requires one or more physical rental textbooks or materials. Barnes & Noble will email you when they require your mailing address confirmation. Check your student email account often and make sure Barnes & Noble emails are not being sent to junk or spam folders.
o You will confirm your mailing address in your Barnes & Noble Student Portal – the same link provided in the Barnes & Noble email notification. You can use this link at any time to check your course materials and to confirm your mailing address for any physical books that are being provided.

o Some eBooks will expire after you complete the course. Some eBooks offer lifetime access. This will be noted for each digital item in your Barnes & Noble Student Portal.
