State Authorization

State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA)

Colorado Christian University participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA), which is overseen by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) that expands student access to distance education while strengthening consumer protection. Through a uniform process for approving and reviewing participating institutions, SARA ensures consistent oversight and accountability across member states. Institutions that participate in SARA must comply with established policies related to online education and out-of-state learning opportunities, helping promote equitable access and ensuring students are well served.

SARA enables participating institutions to offer distance education courses and programs in all 49 member states, districts, and territories without the need for separate state authorizations.
