News: Crabb Speaks at Chapel

CCU Welcomes Dr. Larry Crabb to Chapel

The CCU community gathered to hear Dr. Larry Crabb, distinguished scholar in residence at CCU, speak in chapel last Tuesday and Thursday. Dr. Crabb focused his message on relational prayer, encouraging students, faculty, and staff to go beyond using prayer as a means to make requests to God and to develop deeper intimacy with God.

During his message, he pointed out, "Until relational prayer becomes the exact center of your life, you will not know what power in prayer is all about."

In addition to his affiliation with CCU, Dr. Larry Crabb is the founder and president of New Way Ministries. He is also a well-known speaker and author of numerous best-selling books, including "Soul Talk," "Inside Out," and "Shattered Dreams."

Dr. Crabb received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Illinois. Prior to his work with New Way Ministries, he practiced psychotherapy and directed the master's programs in biblical counseling at Colorado Christian University and Grace Theological Seminary. Dr. Crabb was granted the Pioneer in Christian Psychology award from the American Association of Christian Counselors and now serves as spiritual director of that organization.
