CCU Mourns the Passing of Dr. Frances Dailey
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.– Psalm 116:15 (ESV)
Colorado Christian University students, faculty, staff, alumni, and administrators past and present are mourning the death of associate professor, Dr. Frances Dailey, who went home unexpectedly to be with her Heavenly Father on September 18, 2022. She will be deeply missed by all in the CCU family, and beyond.
Dailey joined CCU in 2020 as associate professor of counseling in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies' School of Behavioral and Social Sciences. In addition to her teaching experiences at several CACREP-accredited Christian universities, Dailey was dedicated to research in the areas of juvenile justice mental health and sex offender topics, as well as to survivors of human sex trafficking.
Over the span of her extensive career, Dailey acquired experience in counseling families, couples, and individuals with a wide spectrum of mental health, substance use, relationship, and career challenges. She developed many clinical and consulting relationships with two national mental health and juvenile justice consulting firms. In these capacities, she provided mental health counseling and psychological and psychosexual evaluations for human services and juvenile justice agencies throughout the country.
Among her many distinguished accomplishments, Dailey was recognized as a subject matter expert in family preservation, mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice populations, and survivors of human trafficking. Her personal and professional dedication to the protection and well-being of these often-overlooked populations has left an indelible impact on our society.
"Dr. Frances Dailey was a brilliant and vibrant colleague, counselor, educator, and sister in Christ," shared Dr. Ryan M. Burkhart, director of the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and associate dean of counseling for CCU. "An accomplished professor, professional counselor, and researcher, she was above all a proud mother of two amazing girls. The loss our faculty, students, and profession feels is only surmounted by the tremendous impact Dr. Dailey had on the numerous lives she touched. We are all better for having had Dr. Dailey in our lives, and we are grateful for our time with her."
We hold her husband, Michael, and their children close to our hearts, as well as those who knew her as a professor, colleague, and friend. As a CCU family, please keep the Dailey family in your prayers today and in the days ahead.
Dr. Dailey's viewing will be held this Friday, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm EST, at Randall Roberts Funeral Home in Fishers, Indiana. The funeral will take place Saturday at 10:00 am EST.
