Colorado Christian University Announces Retirement of Dr. Mellani Day, Longest-Serving Dean in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies
Lakewood, Colo. — Colorado Christian University (CCU) today announced that Dr. Mellani Day, Dean of the School of Business and Technology in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies, will retire effective October 31, 2025.
Dr. Day, the longest-serving dean in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies history, has faithfully served CCU for more than two decades in multiple roles. She first joined the University in the mid-1990s as coordinator of the Master of Science in Management program — now the Master of Business Administration program. After several years working in industry, she returned to CCU in 2007 as assistant dean of the Business and Technology Division. In 2011, she was appointed dean and has since overseen extraordinary growth in academic offerings, expanding from a single graduate program to a robust portfolio that now includes a range of undergraduate certificates and degrees, associate degrees, graduate certificates, and master’s programs.
Her leadership has been marked by innovation and dedication to faculty development. In 2009, she launched the annual publisher’s workshop for CCU faculty, which continues to be a valued resource. She coordinated the 2023 Christian Business Faculty Association Conference at CCU and, in 2025, co-launched the University’s first annual virtual Leadership in Action Conference as a platform for CCU faculty to present their work. Dr. Day’s scholarship includes numerous articles and presentations, as well as serving as co-editor of Neuroeconomics and the Firm (2010) and Handbook of Research Methodologies and Design in Neuro-entrepreneurship (2017). In 2019, she founded the online Journal of Business, Technology and Leadership, further extending CCU’s academic reach.
“Dr. Mellani Day’s tenure at CCU has been marked by a steadfast commitment to academic excellence, a Christ-centered vision for leadership, and a deep love for her students and colleagues,” said CCU President Eric Hogue. “Her influence on the School of Business and Technology and the broader CCU community will be felt for generations to come.”
Reflecting on her years at the University, Dr. Day shared, “It has been my joy to watch God work through the School of Business and Technology to equip students to be humble, yet confident and to lead and serve with distinction. I am grateful for the privilege of serving alongside such dedicated faculty and staff, and I look forward to seeing how the Lord continues to bless CCU in the years ahead.”
Throughout her career, Dr. Day has provided stability, wisdom, grace, and a passion for integrating biblical truth into business education. Her legacy will continue through the programs and partnerships shaped under her leadership.
