Colorado Christian University Welcomes Alumnus Fred Lautenbach to Board of Trustees
Lakewood, Colo. — Colorado Christian University (CCU) is pleased to announce the election of Fred Lautenbach (B.A. ’82) to its Board of Trustees. A lifelong advocate for Christ-centered leadership and a proud CCU alumnus, Lautenbach brings a heart for service, a legacy of excellence, and deep roots in the University’s mission to impact the world with grace and truth.
Fred and his wife, Lorie, were honored as Distinguished Alumni in 2022, recognized for how they model CCU’s mission in their careers, ministry, and personal lives. Together, they have served faithfully in global missions — helping build churches and schools, provide food and clean water, distribute Bibles, and train youth to lead Vacation Bible Schools across nations including Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Eastern Europe, Central America, and Rwanda.
A Rockmont College graduate (now Colorado Christian University), Lautenbach earned his bachelor’s degree in youth ministry and Christian education, with a minor in camping. After teaching and coaching at a local Christian high school for six years, he followed a calling into the family insurance business, joining Lautenbach Insurance in Littleton — founded by his father in 1950 and now the second oldest continuous business in downtown Littleton. Fred purchased the agency in 2002, where he continues to serve as owner and producer.
“Fred exemplifies the kind of Christ-centered leadership and lifelong service we pray all CCU graduates will embody,” said President Eric Hogue. “His unwavering faith, winsome evangelism, professional excellence, and commitment to world missions make him a tremendous addition to our Board of Trustees.”
Fred and Lorie live in Sedalia, Colorado, where they’ve made their home since 1986 on a small ranch raising cattle and horses. They have two daughters, Hannah, married to Andy and Jesse, married to Ty, and five grandchildren.
Active members of Foundry Church in Castle Pines, Fred serves as an elder, and together they lead small groups and serve on the church’s Missions Council.
“CCU shaped who I am today,” Lautenbach said. “It’s humbling to give back to a university that grounded me in faith and prepared me to live out the gospel in my work, my family, and my community. I’m honored to serve alongside others who share a passion for raising up the next generation of Christ-centered leaders.”
